How do I get started?
To begin, simply download the CrossChx app through the Apple App Store or Google Play. You will then choose to sign up using your email, Google, or Facebook login.
Where can I use the app?
The mobile sign-in feature of the app can be used at any CrossChx healthcare partner location. However, your universal patient profile can be accessed and shared with any doctor, clinic, or hospital of your choosing.
Why do I need to enter my Social Security Number?
Your Social Security Number is used to accurately locate your medical information and protect your identity.
How do I create a profile for myself?
When you first launch the app, you will be asked to enter information about yourself, including your name, birthday, and gender. This information will be used to build your profile.
How do I create a profile for another person?
Below your own profile, you will see a button to ‘Add a family member’ that you can click to add another profile. Simply click this button and enter their profile information, the same way you set up your own profile.
How do I find my QR code to sign-in?
As soon as you complete the setup of your profile, your QR code will display on your phone. You can then sign-in by holding your phone over the Queue tablet. If you’ve already created your profile, simply click your name and your QR code will display on your smartphone.
How do I sign-in with my smartphone?
Once you’ve downloaded the app and created your profile, a QR code will be generated that is unique to you. You can then use this QR code to sign-in by holding your phone over the tablet.
Does Connect work with any EHR?
Yes. As a web-based platform, Connect does not rely on any one system so it will work with any EHR you have.
How does Connect eliminate the paper form?
A patient’s Connect profile has accurate and up-to-date information, including contact info, medical history, and insurance coverage, which will soon eliminate the need for paper intake forms.
What if I don’t have the CrossChx app?
Anyone can download the CrossChx app for free on the Apple App Store or Google Play, however you can also invite your patients to create profile online by sending an email invitation.
Do I have to use Connect to sign in to my appointment?
No. Using your Connect profile to sign in to your appointment is optional, however this does ensure your provider has the most correct and most up-to-date information.
Is Connect HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Connect actually exceeds HIPAA security standards in protecting patient health information.
How long does the installation process take?
Your hospital’s particular implementation time will vary based on number of registration points, but the average hospital is up and running in just one day.
Does Connect save images of patient fingerprints?
No. Connect uses unique points on your index finger to verify your identity without storing an image of the fingerprint.
What hardware is included with Connect?
Depending on the options you choose, Connect includes fingerprint readers for each point of registration in addition to tablets for digitized patient registration.
How much time will my IT staff need to implement Connect?
On average, the time needed from hospital IT staff is just 60 minutes and a couple of phone calls.
How do biometric fingerprint readers stay clean?
Our fingerprint readers are quickly and easily cleaned using a non-alcoholic wipe. We include a standard protocol for cleaning them in our implementation guide.
Can Connect help me reduce patient no shows?
Yes. By integrating with your EHR’s existing appointment schedule, Connect can send automatic appointment confirmations via text and mobile app notification to reduce patient no shows. It can also prompt patients to complete any necessary forms digitally before they arrive.
Is Connect an affordable solution for hospitals of all sizes?

Does CrossChx sell patient data?
No. We never have and never will sell patient data. As good stewards of data security, we believe the individual patient is the sole owner of their information.
Will CrossChx share my patients’ clinical data with hospitals outside my network?
No. We do not share patients’ clinical data from one hospital to another. By creating a unique ID for every patient, we are able to secure medical identities while protecting the integrity of the hospital’s patient data.
