One-Millionth Patient Visit
Secured By CrossChx
Milestone marks 1 million visits and 8 million medical records secured
Columbus, Ohio — CrossChx, a leader in healthcare intelligence solutions, announced that they had received their One-Millionth patient visit using their SafeChx healthcare identity management system.
SafeChx instantly verifies a patient’s medical identity by scanning the patient’s fingerprint at registration, linking them to their medical record and ensuring the right person receives the right care. Prior to a patient visit, CrossChx runs proprietary algorithms on all medical records in their network to identify all duplicate medical records before the patient arrives for care. To date, CrossChx has secured over 8 million medical records and identified nearly 1.1 million duplicates.
“We’ve hit a lot of milestones this year- like launching SafeChx in over 200 locations across 7 states- but this number; ‘1 million’ means a lot to us,” said Sean Lane, CEO and Founder of CrossChx. “During these 1 million patient visits, hospitals in our network were able to identify duplicate records, prevent medical identity thefts, and improve the health outcomes.”
The company’s success in their pilot with Holzer Health System in Gallipolis, Ohio caught the attention of Drive Capital, the largest venture capital firm between the coasts, which invested in CrossChx in 2013. In less than 12 months, CrossChx has grown to over 50 hospitals at over 200 locations across Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. From their headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, the company now employs nearly 40 people full-time.
CrossChx has developed proprietary algorithms built from identity resolution markers that enable information to be matched across disparate silos of information. Through their unique data discovery process, CrossChx has found more than 10% of medical records are duplicates. In many cases, an administrative error as simple as incorrectly transposing social security numbers, such as 123-45-6789 and 123-54-6789, can create multiple medical records for a single patient. These serious errors split a patient’s medical history, often leading to treatment based on incomplete information, which can cause medical errors and even the loss of life.
“There is a medical identity crisis in America and it is our mission to fundamentally change healthcare from the front lines,” Lane said. “The technology now exists to ensure that no person is harmed by medical identity mistakes and we’re committed to keeping patients safe.”
CrossChx is the only global solution to the healthcare identity crisis. The company’s proprietary identity resolution system instantly verifies a patient’s identity and links them to their medical benefits to ensure the right person receives the right care. With over 8 million patient records and 1 million patient visits to date, CrossChx is actively working to fundamentally change healthcare. CrossChx provides actionable intelligence for healthcare providers, distributors, and payers to reduce risk, drive revenue, and improve health outcomes. For more information, visitcrosschx.com.
